2. We should do whatever makes us happy
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9
You should do what’s right and sometimes doing the right thing is not the easiest or the funnest thing. That’s why it’s a sacrifice. If the Christian walk were easy, we wouldn’t need to exercise our faith.
Our joy should be in doing things that make God happy because in the end that’s all that matters.
The Bible never promises happiness to everyone who believes. In fact, it says “All who will live Godly will suffer” in this life (2nd Tim 3:12). Jesus was even more vivid in saying, “the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few” (Matt 7:14). That’ doesn’t sound to me like this is my best life now. No, our best life is coming in the kingdom.
