God girds us with strength every single day of our lives and it is up to us to allow ourselves to truly rely on Him for that strength.
But what happens when life gets overwhelming and we don’t know what to do or where to turn?
What happens when we are crying out to God and we feel like still, nothing is changing for the better?
When we are asking for God to show us what our next move needs to be and we feel like He is not answering? This is when all we need to do is be still and call on Him
(Exodus 14:14)- The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.
Our God is an all-powerful God and an awesome God. He wants us to call on Him for all things, when times are good and when they are seemingly bad.
I talked about the importance of rest in I’ll take His word for it and this is a place where that rest is vital.
When you really feel at a loss for what to do and you’re running things over and over and over again in your mind, it is probably time to call on Him! Ask God to come down and fight for you!
There have been many times when I have prayed and prayed and haven’t been able to get that ‘breakthrough’ so I just say,
“Lord, I don’t know what to do anymore. I have prayed for this situation to be resolved and right now I am feeling lost and stuck. I think I’m just spinning my wheels here. I just need you to come down and fight for me. I know in Exodus you say that I can call on You and You’ll come down here to this Earth and fight for me. I thank you for doing that right now Father. In Jesus name, Amen”
After we have called on Him to fight for us, we need to be in His rest. Rest is a huge part of our inheritance because before Jesus came to the Earth and had to suffer and die on that cross.
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him From rising again for you and I.
God’s children were constantly having to earn their way into God’s heart with their works. They lived under the law; we live under the new covenant of grace!!
Probably the most important part of resting is that while we are resting we are to be praising God, giving Him all the glory and to be in Thanksgiving with Him for the things that we know He is doing in our lives.
Most of the time we are praising Him for things that have not even happened yet but because of our faith in Him, we know they will happen.
When you are weathering the storms in life, don’t forget to call on God. There is not a certain number of times you can call on Him per year and He wants all your problems–big and small.
Talk to Him, Commune with Him daily. Let Him into your world like you never have before because the truth is, He wants to come down and fight for you and all you have to do is call on Him.
