Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit – Proverbs 18:21
There you have it – the bible speaks clearly about the effect of words spoken out of our mouth into the atmosphere. Or you may also know the saying “you are what you eat” which in essence kind of means the same thing. If you eat junk food all day every day then your body will most likely be very unhealthy. So I also believe, which is also stated in the bible, if you speak negative words about yourself, your circumstances and upon others you will have the tendency of living an unhealthy life. You have to be so careful of the words you speak. Sometimes we say negative things without even realizing it and all its doing is sabotaging our blessings. If you go all day saying “I’m having a terrible day” guess what? You will have a terrible day because that’s all you’re talking about. Now speaking positive doesn’t mean you must put a blind eye to the difficult situations you may be facing, it just means by faith you are believing and trusting God for better. Also we have to be careful not to accept negative labels from others. Sometimes we can carry the bad labels from others without even realizing it, such as: “you will never amount to anything”, “you’re a deadbeat just like your mom or dad”, “you’re stupid!”, “nobody will ever love you.” Don’t allow the hatred of others to dictate your life for the worse. Accept God’s labels for you, such as: “you are a child of God” (John 1:12), “you are a friend of God” (John 15:15), “God will supply all your needs” (Philippians 4:19), “God loves you and accepts you” (1 Thessalonians 1:4). So today start speaking life into your world by saying the right words into the atmosphere and watch how it will help to build your faith. It may take some practice, because bad habits die hard, but it’s so worth it.
