We sometimes try to twist the words of the Bible to read the way we want them to read. Some are hard to understand, Some are hard to accept, and some are even harder to honor.

Some people might even argue that scripture written back then doesn’t apply to this day and age because times have drastically changed.

Because after all, God wouldn’t want us to live unhappy right? Well the truth is… God is more concerned with us being obedient.

Here are 21 scriptures that can be hard to digest at times:

1. “Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” –Luke 17:4

2. “But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.”- Matthew 5:39

3. “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.” – Leviticus 20:13

Me personally, As a divorced woman, I struggle to accept #6. It’s like God’s saying ” You had one shot and you blew it.”
