“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Always be on guard, don’t just wait for hell to break loose, to all of a sudden get loose in the Spirit and call upon Jesus.
The Lord should continually be on our tongue, our actions, our thoughts. What I mean is that our lifestyle should be representation of our faith, trust and honor to God.
We should always find quiet time to spend with God, ten-fifteen minutes of quality a day can go a long way.
We can also praise God by being a great employee, the best parent we can be, honoring our parents, respecting authority, etc.
But the purpose is to have God as an integral part of our daily lives. This keeps us on guard – alert, so when the enemy does come to attack us we’re not falling apart in despair.
We are prayed up, faith up and ready to slay some demons. God will always hear us when we humbly approach His throne, but we shouldn’t wait for trouble to go running to God.
Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t want a friend that only needed me when they were in trouble, our relationship should be continually growing by our communication and constant nurturing of our relationship.
I don’t think God only wants to hear from us when we need Him. He wants to always be a part of our daily lives, incorporate Him in yours today!
