James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
I have been stuck on James 1:22 for a week because it is so powerful to me.
In James 1:25 it goes on to say “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
This all boils down to being obedient when you hear His voice or feel a prompting from the Holy Spirit that dwells in you.
The men and women in the Bible were not equipped to deal with the things they dealt with because of their strength or their might, they were equipped with supernatural strength from God. God does not only choose the equipped, he equips the chosen.
Matthew 20:16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.
I read a blog recently entitled, “God WILL give you more than you can handle” and the main point of the article was that there are many things in this life that are absolutely more than we can handle alone, reminding us that we need God.
Sometimes God might call you to do things that are seen as simple and sometimes He may put something on your heart and call you to do things that seem impossible.
Well guess what? Trying to do them without God leading and guiding you, making the crooked paths straight would be impossible. Being a doer of the word calls you to take a leap of faith and fully trust that God will allow you to land safely. Being a doer of the word is trusting in all that God is and all that word says He is.
Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? – James 2:22
Do you not see that hearing without action means nothing? Start walking the path that God has chosen for you to walk and start acting on the Kingdom works which you are called to do.
Stop letting fear, worry, and anxiety rule you because God will equip you. God has equipped you! Start running your race of faith today and never look back.
Be a fearless doer of the word today!
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. – James 2:26
