All of us have the need to be loved. The problem is that most of us try to get that love from other people instead of clinging on to God.
People are not able to love us the way God loves us. Human love is conditional. They only love us if we meet their conditions.
And so we start feeling the need to cover up our imperfections for others to even like us. All because we fear being rejected by them.
I feared rejection too.
I tried to be perfect in every way I could. I tried to look perfect. I tried to get perfect grades in school. I tried to be perfect in each area of my life.
But I could not.
And so I started to cover up my imperfections. I was trying to project the image of the perfect me, when on the inside I knew I was not even close to perfect.
This made me feel insecure. I was scared of what will happen when someone got to know the real me.
And then I met Jesus.
I realized that He loves me just the way I am. He loves me even when I am just wearing my old pajamas and my hair is messy. He loves me even when I sin against Him. He still loves me!
The truth of Jesus loving me just the way I am has set me free from the fear of rejection.
Now I know that I do not have to try harder to please people or try to fit in. I do not have to cover up my imperfections. I do not have to feel insecure anymore about somebody finding out who I really am.
Jesus knows who I really am. He knows me better than I know myself and yet He still loves me.
Jesus loves you too. He knows all of the sins you have committed and yet He still loves you.
So why care if other people reject you? God accepts you completely.
Why care if others do not like you? God loves you unconditionally.
Why care if somebody is not willing to overlook your flaws? God knows that you are not perfect and yet He still loves you.
God loves you so much, that He decided to die for you and pay for all of your sins so that you may have eternal life.
That’s how much you matter to Him.
That’s how valuable you are to Him.
Don’t let the world tell you otherwise.
If God accepts you then why care who rejects you?
