Dear Sister,
Over the weekend Superstorm Sandy came my way. At one point during the storm we didn’t have hot water. I asked my husband to go in the basement and check the hot water heater. Well, we had bigger problems than the hot water heater. There was water down there. It was far from flooded but it certainly wasn’t dry. The next day and a half of monitoring, vacuuming, and investigating the source of the leaks, made me think about life.
How often do we diagnose our problems without investigation? It’s easy to assume we know what’s going on with us without going in the basement. We have to go deep. It’s essential to thoroughly investigate what’s causing our problems. You’ve known you for a very long time but maybe there’s something else there. The trials of life will come but if you work to ensure your foundation is strong you will weather the storm.
If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. (1 Corinthians 3:12, 13 NIV)
Praying for ya,
Tanisha
