Here are five amazing ways you might not even know how God is working through you.
1. Sharing Your Testimony With Others
Testimonies encourage others in their faith, and that is why it is highly crucial for Christians to share their testimony, even if they are new believers.
You never know how sharing about your experiences can help others facing the same obstacles, or how the new person you’ve become can inspire others who seek to discover the God that completely changed you.
These incredible stories don’t have to be spoken in a crowded room over a speaker, but can simply arise during a conversation over a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
Don’t be afraid to divulge the messy details of your life with others — they may ultimately lead others to a relationship with God, one person at a time.
2. Sharing the Gospel with unbelievers
One of the best ways to share your faith is to live a godly life. Non-Christians often look at Christians as hypocritical because we say one thing but do another.
Show those close to you that you care—spend time with them, help meet their needs and offer to listen when they have problems.
Being passionate about Christ will help others see that there’s something different about you, and they will want to know what it is.
You can also reflect Christ through kind words, patience, a gentle temperament, choosing to love even difficult people, carefully monitoring what you watch or listen to, and treating others with respect.
God has been very clear in His Word that He wants us to go forth and spread the Word to the world. As Christians, part of our duty is to try to reach as many people as possible in sharing the word of God.
3. Ministry
Is there a place for me to serve in the church? You want your church to be a place where you can connect with other believers and participate in outreach ministry as well.
Some churches offer a very simple ministry approach and others extend an elaborate system of classes, programs, productions and more.
So, for instance, if you’re single, you might want to join a single’s ministry. At my church we even have a cooking ministry that cooks for the homeless. Ministry can be anything that simply advances the kingdom.
Get active. Join a ministry: Choir, Usher, Homeless Ministry, Outreach Ministries etc. Look at it like this, Your church is your team and you’re playing against Satan. Are you on the team or on the bench?
The New Testament says the same thing in many different ways: Christians are commanded to serve one another. All members are enslaved to one another. We all have obligations to one another.
Whether our service is in word or in deed, it is a religious duty for all Christians.
Whether we are ordained or not, we are all called to serve the Lord by serving one another.
“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
4. Giving to Others
There are ways that God may be working through you and other believers that you’re not even aware of, like when you find yourself in a spot where you really need to buy a couple of new tires, but you can’t afford it right now.
Then, your friend, who knows you better than most, steps in and offers to help pay for your tires.
That happened to me. I thought about what I should do, so I just prayed and didn’t ask anyone for money.
God answered that prayer and God was glorified in it, but the point is that God will often use you as a means to help others, just like my friend helped me.
Even if the person hasn’t asked, whenever you feel a tugging at your heart to give, do it. It could be God telling you to do so.
5. Praying For Others
For most of us, praying for others tends to run along these lines: Lord, provide my friend with a job, a car that runs, good health, and safety.
If we really know someone well, we might pray for his or her marriage or other relationships.
There is nothing wrong with praying for these things; in fact, the Bible encourages us to pray for everything and, doing so, quell our anxieties (Philippians 4:6).
It is right to pray for health and for good things to happen (3 John 1:2).
However, most of the prayers recorded in the Bible are of another type. When Jesus was praying for others,
He prayed for their faith (Luke 22:32),
He prayed against temptation in their lives (Luke 22:40),
He prayed for their unity (John 17:11), and
He prayed for their sanctification (John 17:17).
Paul prayed for the salvation of the lost (Romans 10:1); he prayed that the brothers would stay on the right path (2 Corinthians 13:7); he prayed that believers would be strengthened by the Spirit, rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend God’s love, and filled with the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:14–19).
These are all prayers for spiritual blessings; they are all “in Jesus’ name” and according to the Father’s will—prayers that are guaranteed to find a “yes” in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Conclusion
God can do marvelous things through you, such as loving others; by giving to others; by praying for others; by ministering to others; and by sharing a good word with others.
Notice the theme here; it’s all about “others” and not about us. I like that.
