“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)
So that really handsome, God fearing man that you thought was going to be your husband just broke broke your heart. Depression is knocking at your door and you just want to sulk in your own misery. Your family and close friends all just want to comfort you, but they hit you with those cliches that you just don’t want to hear. Some of them go something like this:
“Oh girl, you deserve better.”
“God has a better plan.”
“He just wasn’t the one for you.”
“God heals all wounds”.
Some of these may sound familiar and some may not, but in those moments of being at your worst (or so we tend to think) we are just not trying to hear it! As cliche as the sayings may be, I am NOT in any way saying that they are not true. In my own personal life with being recently single, I can say without a doubt… God has shown me and is still is showing me that they are ALL very true!
Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.“
In those moments when I simply didn’t understand what was happening or why, He got me to a point of just being completely vulnerable. A place where I had no choice BUT to trust in Him! Trusting in Him with my whole heart.
It felt like He was all I had, but ladies lets be honest.. In the grand scheme of things, He is all we really need.
But what He began to show me was that I am His daughter, His beautiful creation. He wants the best for me (and you). Our relationship with Him is of the utmost importance.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23).
My validation comes from Him & not man. He is showing me how important it is to guard my heart
Most importantly, I’ve learned that if I keep my eyes focused on Him and His kingdom and just be still, He can and will do the rest. The right way. Without my help (because sometimes we tend to think He needs us just as much as we need Him). Trusting our Father is so important. God’s grace is sufficient. Our season is coming. Hold on.
Don’t let the enemy throw you off by allowing you to think that you are forgotten. THAT’S A LIE! Let God love on you in this trying time. Trust Him! Walk with Him! A relationship with God is fundamental and priceless.
As always, I am praying for all my single friends.
Ask, Seek, Knock
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)
