No one is exempt from life’s turmoil. Even the richest and the smartest people will go through difficult times.
Although tough situations are not welcome, we have no choice but to face them when they arise. When the going gets tough, here are comforting thoughts to remember:
Tough times don’t last, tough people do
That’s the famous line of American actor Gregory Peck. All kinds of situations; heartbreak, sadness, failure, are all temporary. Nothing lasts forever. You may feel like you are at the bottom right now, but it will not last forever.
Keep moving
Here is another motivational quote from another notable historical person:
If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward, Martin Luther King Jr.
Walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Do not reside there. Do not let the tough times paralyze you from moving forward.
Focus on the prize
Climbing the mountain is never easy, not even for experienced trekkers. It is the climb that makes the view from the top more rewarding and fulfilling.
If you did not go through the tough part of enduring pain, tiredness, tripping or falling maybe, you will not be able to appreciate the peak that you have reached.
Tough times will make you wise and appreciative
If you’ve never had to feel pain, you would never know what joy feels like.
If you never had to deal with losing, you would not know the true meaning of victory.
If you do not know hunger or being broke, you would not know and appreciate having enough.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
If you worship a God Who can part the sea to free His people, Who can make the blind see, Who can make the lame walk, Who can raise the dead, and Who is the resurrection Himself, what can you not do? What can you not surpass? Your broken heart can be mended if you would only let Him fix it. Relationships can be restored, if you would only learn to forgive and let Him work it out for you.
Any and every goal you set, can become a reality with God’s help and strength.
Just remember that you can’t do it alone.
Tough times may be inevitable, but how we handle it really depends on us. Two people may be looking at the same situation and see them differently.
Get the right mindset and become tougher than any situation you may ever face.
