Whatever situation you’re dealing with today, Not only can God fix it, He can make it better than it was before.

Playing it safe does not always mean it’s a sign from God. Don’t let your fears keep you in a place you don’t have to be.
I don’t know how long you have been waiting for an answer to your prayer, but what I do know is this… God is good and He is so faithful!
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” (Psalms 55:22) What have you not given to God fully? What are you still holding on to? These are tough, convicting questions, but, necessary. Whatever you haven’t fully surrendered to Him, can and will be a strong hold in your life. What is it for you? Anxiety, worry, finances, hurt, addictions, relationships, etc.? Pray over it and release it to Him. He’s got you! “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all…
One of my favorite quotes is, “be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” These words are so powerful. Far too often I am too involved in my own world to pay attention to what others must be going through. My thoughts are consumed with nothing but myself. I worry what others think of me, what they say about me when I’m not around. But in all reality people do not think or talk about me nearly as much as I worry about them doing these things. And this is because everyone is fighting their own…
When It’s Hard to Keep The Faith, we must remember that life is a constant change, but God’s faithfulness remains the same.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18) Recently God has placed on my heart, the fact that I’m a professional hoarder of my feelings and emotions. By that I mean – since childhood, I’ve learned how to suppress my fears, hurts and pains instead of fully facing them. Now I do know that during certain times, suppressing my feelings was good in ways of helping me to be strong, but I’ve been doing it…
“I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) I love the opportunity to walk alone at times for I find that it is very therapeutic and allows me time to meditate and spend time with God without distraction. But, sadly, there are many people in the world that are alone not because they want to be, but because of tragedy or broken relationships. For example, an elderly couple that had been married for sixty years and then all of a sudden, the husband dies and leaves his wife behind and then shortly thereafter you hear of her dying…
I’m a big fan of schedules. I like to make a list of tasks, crossing out each one as it is accomplished. But there are days I don’t accomplish much on my list: I get interrupted, things go wrong and I sit down at the end of the day frustrated and angry at how fruitless those hours seemed to be. Perhaps your frustration doesn’t come from being interrupted, but from a difficult friendship or the stress of a research paper deadline. Perhaps, like me, you struggle to keep a good attitude when anger and frustration enter your heart, and your…
And I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. And who knows whether that person will be wise or foolish? Yet they will have control over all the fruit of my toil into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 2:18-19) We work so hard in this life. We put in long hours at the office and we work diligently to keep our homes in order. We achieve and we attain. We strive for things and reach our goals.…
There is a Geico commercial that features a man in his garage obviously organizing it. In his hand is a lamp that he is rubbing with a cloth which (naturally) summons a genie. True to form the genie asks the man, “What is your wish?” Getting over his initial shock and joy at having found a genie he asks, “Ok, I wish I had a million bucks.” Poof! A million male deer (bucks) appear in the man’s garage and yard. Although this is a more humorous take on genies taking wishes literally, I find that it tends to be true…
If you’re on the verge of giving up and going back to that familiar place, I want to encourage you to press forward!
When you’re busy thanking God in all circumstances, you don’t have time to worry or complain.
Following Christ is not always easy, but it is always worth it. “Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you.” (1 Peter 4:4) If I can be honest, following Christ can be hard many days. It seemed since I became more intentional in my relationship as a Christian I was often the only believer in the room; friends were more distant, the trials increased, and not many of my loved ones shared in my excitement or beliefs about Jesus. “So you must…
The only thing harder than waiting on God, is wishing you had.
I was in disbelief. Did I just stand up and pledge $2,000 to help build our new church? My inner voice was screaming… “Are you crazy? Did you just stand up in front of all these people and say you’d give $2,000? You know that you can’t sit back down, people are watching you. You do know that you just made a vow to God and He doesn’t take vows lightly.” I felt faintish, but I couldn’t turn back now. Over the past year, I sowed a seed here and there. My balance owed was $1,400. That spring, I received…
If you are having a hard time moving past a painful time, I encourage you to lift up this prayer:
I’m from New York. I’ve lived there for twenty-somewhat years. It’s the city that never sleeps. Never stops. For better or for worse, that’s ingrained in me. So though, I’ve been living in the sanctity of peaceful Maryland for the last 4.5 years, that New- York- work-now-rest-never spirit still lives in me. And I’m working on it. I’m working on it because for most of my adult life, (and I’m only 26) I have silently struggled with anxiety and hypertension. My mental and physical well-being depends on me finding rest often and consistently. I’m working on it. I work a…
If you’re anything like me, social media can more often than not lure you in. Before we know it, we have spent a good portion of our days (and nights) aimlessly scrolling through Newsfeeds and Timelines. We have mindlessly “liked” stories that frequently have little to do with our real lives and “commented” on things that only get us distracted, frustrated, or even envious. If you’re anything like me, you have had to take mental breaks from social media or even fast from social media because of the great distraction it presents. Personally, I struggle with what I deem the…
It’s easy to get impatient and attempt to take matters into our own hands when we feel our prayers are going unheard. Why does it seem like some people just ask and receive while others beg and plead with God, but to no avail? I know, it’s hard to sit back and watch everyone around us continue to reap blessings while we sit back and wonder… when will it be our turn? The problem with giving God deadlines is that God doesn’t move on our schedule. His timing is perfect. This is a lesson, I unfortunately had to learn the hard way. 12 years ago,…
