Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.~ Philippians 3:13 As this year comes to an end, I often stop and reminisce on all the blessings I’ve had. Not just this year, but in my lifetime. Sometimes we get so fixed on our current situation that we fail to praise God for all that He has already done. This year may not have been an easy one for you. You may have lost a lot of things in 2013. But if you’ll remain faithful, God will restore everything you’ve lost. You may have lost…

Sometimes, when things are not going our way, it’s easy to lose sight of all that God has done for us. So let’s make 2013 our best year yet by reflecting on God’s goodness!  I posted this awesome idea a couple of months ago. A lot of you asked for a reminder as the end of the year approached. So here you go! Let’s get those empty jars ready! Starting next week, I challenge all of my readers to participate in “The Jar Of Gratitude: A Year Of Reflection”. Here’s how it works: [checklist]  Start the new year with an empty…

Have you ever experienced something so hurtful, no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t possibly see anything good coming out of the situation? My mom died suddenly of a heartache. I felt as though God should have given me more time with her. I couldn’t understand how or why God would take the one person who meant everything to me. I won’t lie, I was wavering in Faith. I had my good days, I would tell myself. “Everyone must go someday. It was just her time” and I had my bad days, I was determined to blame all of…

Hi ladies! I am so honored to be a new contributor on this site. I look forward to sharing more with you all as the days go by. I wanted to share a posting that has been on my heart. I wrote this a very long time ago at the Spirit’s leading and it ministered to so many women, that I was surprised. Once again, I feel a leading to share it here. You might have read the title and asked yourself, what is she talking about and why is she posting it here, well because I know that if…

Submitted By:   Amy Mathiew Prayer Request: Hello sisters. May of this year I had a complete hystorectomy and my husband and I aren’t blessed with children. On the fifth day after my surgery I had an over welming feeling of complete loss and emptiness. I cried till I fell asleep. This happened every day for 5 days. I want a baby. I need to be a mother and have the love of a child. I know there are plenty of people who know how hurting this is. I will be 40 next year and the one thing I’ve prayed…

Hi Dreana, I love your blog. I love your point of view on things and I really enjoy reading your viewers point of view on things also. Which is why I decided to write you for advice. Recently I was out shopping with my girls. I spotted my best friend’s husband out having lunch with another woman. From the looks of them together, this wasn’t just a friendly lunch. They were holding hands, hugging, and kissing. My question is… Should I tell my friend or should I just keep it to myself? Something keeps telling me not to say anything.…

Some call it the “third eye,” or like to envision their conscience as a little green Jiminy Cricket on their shoulder telling them what they should do or say. As I entered into adulthood, I became guilty of trying to listen to myself and follow my own actions. I had failed miserably. My goals and relationships with others began to suffer as I tried to take control over every aspect, making matters worse. I began to fill my cup with regrets. Things I should have said or done differently that would have changed everything. After many disappointments, I would pray…

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. ~Psalm 147:3 The death of loved ones are so openly discussed, but we seldom see the same support for families grieving the loss of their unborn child. Miscarriages can leave permanent scars, mixed emotions, and a slew of questions. “Do I still try again?” “What if the same thing happens again? I don’t think I can cope with another loss.” How do you explain to your other children that they will never get to meet their baby brother or sister? While we may never understand God’s reasoning, One thing I’m certain,…

Submitted By: Anonymous Prayer Request: Okay, my life is absolutely spiralling out of control. I know for the past few years I have lost touch with god and have almost become atheist, but I have wanted to become closer to god for a long time, but during the summer I became someone who Satan lived inside for a while. I was cussing a lot, I was throwing the finger, I was using god’s name in vain. But I tried to become closer to god, but I couldn’t go to church because of my busy schedule. But this year, I…

Dear Sister, Over the weekend Superstorm Sandy came my way. At one point during the storm we didn’t have hot water. I asked my husband to go in the basement and check the hot water heater. Well, we had bigger problems than the hot water heater. There was water down there. It was far from flooded but it certainly wasn’t dry. The next day and a half of monitoring, vacuuming, and investigating the source of the leaks, made me think about life. How often do we diagnose our problems without investigation? It’s easy to assume we know what’s going on…

When I hear this song, it reminds me to practice living my life with gratitude, even through tough situations. As we begin to grow from your circumstances, we realize that without the mercy of the Lord, things could have been a lot worse. Have a blessed day expressing gratitude!

“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9 Dear Sister, I know you have a lot going on. Don’t sweat it.  Somebody else has had it going on before too. As a matter of fact there is someone, somewhere in the same place that you are. Someone is waiting for a breakthrough, a miracle, a healing, an answer, a deliverance, a financial blessing, a husband, a prodigal to come home, etc. You are not alone!  Isolation is a trick of Satan. It’s sent to make us…

Some people say when it rains, it pours. I agree, sometimes it seems as though everything hits all at once. When one thing breaks down, everything seems to break down. When you lose one person, everyone seems to disappear from your life. No matter how much you pray, things seem to go the opposite of what you’re praying. But I also believe that the rain is an indication that God is getting ready to pour down blessings from Heaven. Psalm 126:5 says “Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.” If you’re going through the storm right now, hold…

The second presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney was held at the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. The town-hall-style debate, with an audience of uncommitted voters selected by Gallup, was moderated by CNN’s Candy Crowley. Here are some highlights of the action: The first question of the evening was from a college student wondering what the employment situation would be when he graduated: Romney said keeping college costs affordable was essential, and that he had a five-point plan for the economy: “I will make sure you have a job when you graduate in 2014.” Obama answered: “Governor…

How did tonight’s debate weigh in with you? Did it change your outlook on which candidate to vote  for? For those of you who did not tune in, heres’ a recap! In a showdown at close quarters, President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney sparred aggressively in their first campaign debate Wednesday night over taxes, deficits and strong steps needed to create jobs in a sputtering national economy. “The status quo is not going to cut it,” declared the challenger.  God is getting ready to “allow” extreme pressure to come into your life in order to thrust or shove you into the place that He has created you to exist in….the place of purpose. For some of you, the pushing has already started. I know it’s uncomfortable and it may even hurt but just know that the thrust is designed to get you to the place that God has destined for you to be. The good news is what the enemy means for evil, He is going to work it together for your good. God is allowing this storm to push…

Jesus is my defense. If He does not defend me, it means that there are things in my life that are not to be defended, and it’s better to find out about them now rather than later. On the other hand, because I take the Lord as my defense, and He defends me, what can those who are against me do to me? – Joseph Prince Some things aren’t worth our time! The word says that he will perfect that which concerns us. So give it to Jesus, and it will all work out. Today, ask God to reveal whatever it…
