For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Sometimes we become so dependent on people, we forget that God is our sole provider. When I think back on my adult life, I’ve always had someone to lean on in my time of need; Someone who I counted on to bail me out of trouble. When I was married, It was my husband. After my divorce, It was my mother. After my mom’s death, it was my aunt… And so on and so on. When I…

Sometimes we pray for things we are not fully prepared for. Some of us ask God to show us a sign whether something or someone is good or bad for us. The funny part is, God may have given us plenty of signs , before we even prayed that prayer. One of my relationships, I REALLY wanted to work! So when we began to have our share of problems, I began to pray. I asked God to show me whether or not this person was the one for me. If not, I prayed that He would remove him from my…

Last night Joshua Rogers was crowned Season 5’s Sunday Best winner. As if that wasn’t reason enough to be excited, He is also the first Male to ever win the title. I don’t know what it was about this season, but it had me sucked in from start to finish. I felt the anointing from both finalist, Joshua Rogers as well as Alexis Spight. I stand in agreeance with Yolanda Adams, Joshua will bring a lot of the younger generation to Christ. God is using him in a mighty big way. Before the winner was crowned, viewers were treated…
“You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.” (Exodus 23:1) Often times, we are quick to judge someone without even knowing them. We choose to dislike others based on appearance or based on what others have said about that person. I recall years ago, I started a new job. During training, I was warned who not to associate with and who I should try to get in good with. There was one person in particular who had a reputation of being holier than thou, stuck up, and…
The new season of Mary Mary premieres December 13, 2012 on WEtv. If it’s anything like last season, We’re in for a blessing! Finally, Reality TV done right!
Gabrielle Douglas was interviewed by Oprah on Sunday, August 26, 2011 on Oprah’s Next Chapter on OWN. Gabrielle, who we have come to know as “Gabby,” said she would rather be called “Gabrielle.” [That might be hard to do for some of us who have grown accustomed to calling her “Gabby. Oprah went to Iowa and sat down first with Gabrielle, then with Gabrielle and her mother, then with the Gabrielle’s family and the Iowa host family before going to the gym where the 16-year old, 4 feet 11, 94-pound gymnast trained for 22 months before becoming the first African American to become an Olympian gold medal…
Sometimes we want something so bad that we never stop to ask God what He wants for us. We set our hopes on favors too small. Thinking that if we don’t ask for much, God will answer our prayer. I remember as a child, I would pray for something really big and then I would end my prayer by saying something like “Lord, if You can’t give me what I want, just give me what You can!” As an adult, I’ve learned that our God is not a second best God. He only gives His very best. No in between,…
Not only is Bishop T. D. Jakes the pastor of a megachurch, The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas, but he is also a movie producer. His fifth film, “Sparkle” premiered in theaters on August 17, 2012. So what is Bishop Jakes saying about “Sparkle”? First of all, he says the production of “Sparkle” was bittersweet as he talked about it being Jordin Sparks’ first role and Whitney Houston’s last role. The movie finished its production three months before her death and aired in theaters six months after her death several days after the legendary singer’s 49th birthday. Bishop Jakes told…
God has a way of making all things work together for our good. Even though we can’t see all the amazing things He’s doing for us behind the scenes, we can rest assure our God is busy at work on our behalf! Genesis 50:20 says “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good”. This assures us that no matter how bad our situation may seem, No matter how tight of a hold we may think the enemy has on us, No matter how deep we have fallen, God is able to reach down and raise us to…
God has moments of favor in your future. He is preparing you right now. Every struggle and trial is just preparing you for that moment! We all want success and happiness, but not many of us want to endure the trials and tribulations to achieve it. We often look at celebrities and wish we had their lifestyle, not knowing what they had to endure to get where they are today. Take these celebrities for example: Tyler Perry, actor-director-writer-producer; became homeless after moving from New Orleans, Louisiana to Atlanta, Georgia. He spent months living in cheap motels and his car. As a Christian,…
Sometimes it takes a traumatic experience to make us appreciate the little things in life, that we would normally take for granted. Things money can’t buy… Love, Health, Peace of mind etc. Sometimes we complain so much that we don’t realize God hears everything. We find ourselves saying things like “I hate this old car”, “I hate my job”, or “I hate so and so”! That is until the car breaks down and we have no car, the job we hated so much… has just given us our walking papers, or the the person you hated so much is gone,…
11-year-old Kile Glover has passed away this morning from injuries suffered in a tragic jetski accident in Georgia earlier this month. Doctors removed 11-year-old Kile Glover from life support after it was determined the injuries were too severe to overcome. I know Kile’s mother, Tameka Foster, struggled tremendously with the decision, as any mother would. I couldn’t imagine having to make such a decision. Our prayers are with the family. Update: After speaking with a source close to the family, we are able to confirm that Kile’s heart stopped beating; he was not taken off life support as previously reported.
The worst thing any of us can do during hard times is lose Faith in God or doubt His ability. Have you ever been in a situation and just knew it was the end? You didn’t see a way out, but just in the nick of time, God showed up and showed out? Sometimes He’ll step in just to remind us that HE is God. A friend of mine has been a Police Officer for many years. She recently decided to apply for a promotion as a Police Sergeant. Anyone who knows or have applied for a Law Enforcement position…
The more I see of this guy, The more I love him! Devon Franklin, a Movie Executive, a Seventh-day Adventist minister, and newlywed husband of actress Meagan Good. In an interview on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, Devon says that money doesn’t necessarily mean you’re successful. Success is defined by one’s peace. I totally agree! If your goal in life is to be the best mom you can be, and you have accomplished it, You’re successful! 🙂 Here is Devon Franklin defining what deems success.
President Obama turned a campaign event in Fort Myers, Fla., into a moment of silence, calling on participants to pray for the victims of a Colorado shooting. “This morning, we woke up to news of a tragedy that reminds us of all the ways we are united as one American family,” Obama said of the mass shooting during a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises,” the latest Batman movie, at a theater complex in Aurora, Colo. Twelve people died and dozens more were injured. If anything, an incident such as the one in Aurora shows that “life is very…
As we get closer to God, the enemy will do anything and everything in his power to pull us away. Sometimes he’ll use the people we love to do so! Have you ever noticed that when you’re trying to kick a bad habit, the enemy will send someone in your life who has the same bad habit? or when you’re trying to be celibate, here comes Mr. Wrong, all packaged up to look like Mr. Right? The more you try to do right, the more the enemy will tempt you to do wrong! Isaiah 54:17 says that No weapon formed…
Most women will spend most of their lives waiting on a man to get his act together. Through the ups and downs, good and bad, we remain patient. Even if the bad times out weigh the good, we still find a way to hold on to hope. We have faith in the relationship and believe that everything is going to work out no matter how bad things look. That’s the kind of faith God expects us to have in Him. However, that’s not always the case. In fact, we are sometimes quick to give up on God when things don’t…
1 John 1:9 ~ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” One of the worst things that we can do as a Christian, is to think that God will stop loving us when we disappoint Him. We all are a work in progress. We all make mistakes. It’s how we recover from them, that counts. Do you even acknowledge them? Do you pray about them? Do you learn from them? As a baby learns to walk, naturally he or she will stumble and fall. Our…
